    1. It’s Criminal how talented she is.

*”What I need is a good defense*

*’Cause I’m feelin’ like a criminal*

*And I need to be redeemed to the one I’ve sinned against*

*Because he’s all I ever knew of love”*

‘Well you ain’t Fiona Apple, and if you ain’t Fiona Apple I don’t give a rat’s ass!’

      –  Officer Barbrady, said to Barbara Streisand, South Park Season 1

    3. Barbra Streisand: You know who I am, don’t you?

Officer Barbrady: Well, you ain’t Fiona Apple, and if you ain’t Fiona Apple, I don’t give a rat’s ass!

    4. I haven’t posted this in a while:

Back when she was first coming up, she was like 2nd act at a festival.in the area. I had GA tickets which was a pretty small area at the base of the seats under a pavilion. Since she was the 2nd act and not very well known, the area was pretty sparse still.

The back of the ‘pit’ area was a makeshift wooden wall, maybe 4 feet tall so I’m half sitting, half leaning against this thing just jamming out to the music. I look to the stage, and I’m locking eyes with Fiona Apple. There’s a second of disbelief, then I try to do a smooth smile and nod. Not as smarmy as Joey’s “How you doin’?” but still “Hey, you’re hot.” It’s as I finish this movement that I realize this girl is CLEARLY looking at someone behind me. I drop and shake my head and try to play it off and look back to see who it was she was looking at. There’s no one back there. My head pops back to the stage and there she is holding back laughter as she has realized what happened just a second before I did.

She looked again before she left the stage with a little smile. I tell you, if I could have talked to her, I’m sure I would’ve messed it all up, but I had a shot. Ended the best way possible. I went back and found the people I had come to the show with and told them. There was much disbelief but fuck them, that shit happened and that’s that.

    5. I met her on an elevator in Atlantic City after one of her shows (I want to say she played with 311 but I don’t think I’m remembering that right). She was hammered and seemed like a really good hang. It only exacerbated my own crush.

if I ever am in a position to cast an actress for Helen of Troy, she’s my first call.

    6. She’s still one of my favorite artists of all time, top three if not number one depending on the day.

    7. Me too! I thought I was the only one, everyone looked at me strange back in the day when asked my celebrity crush.
